WELCOME TO THE BIG & LITTLE KIDS BOOK - A YAVAPAI KIDS RESOURCE GUIDE
The Yavapai County Community Foundation, in partnership with First Things First, is very pleased to bring to our community an online, searchable, updated version of the published listings contained in The Big & Little Kids Book, 2009 print edition. We hope you will find this new site useful and visit often. You can also view, print or download the print edition directly from this site. In 1986 we recognized the need to connect parents and families with the resources that were available to them, and responded by producing the first published volume of service provider listings in Yavapai County.
We believe in education
We believe that identifying and providing access to resources is the best way to help families find the help they need. Each year we’ve renewed our commitment to the children of Yavapai County by carefully updating the information and improving the Book’s format. We expanded the scope of the Book to include children of all ages - from birth to 21 years countywide optimea-credit.com. For more than 30 years, we’ve pulled together the necessary funding and directed our staff to produce, publish and distribute the Book.
We wish to thank our current sponsors (below) and the many donors in our community who have contributed to the publication of the Book over the years. We are also grateful to our donors who have contributed to our Yavapai Information Resource Development endowment fund, which will help ensure the continuation of this important referral service to our community well into the future.

The Yavapai County Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization that builds and grows charitable funds to help meet community needs in Yavapai County, and assists donors in achieving their charitable goals. We have been an affiliate of the Arizona Community Foundation since 1993.
Our mission is to lead, serve and collaborate to mobilize enduring philanthropy for a better Yavapai County. Funds are held and managed as permanent endowments, with a portion of the investment returns used for grantmaking while the principal grows forever, providing a perpetual source of funding for the community.
Some funds have a broad grantmaking focus while others target a specific organization or field. Grants are awarded year-round either through donor advice or through a competitive process informed by 50 local and very diverse grant committee advisors and overseen by our local Advisory Board.
As an endowment organization, the Yavapai County Community Foundation can assure fundholders that their contributions will last in perpetuity, always providing a source of funding to help meet the needs of the community. It is often said that endowment math is “funny math.” For example, a family left a $23 million endowment with the Arizona Community Foundation about ten years ago. Over the next decade, grants totaling about $4 million were distributed to deserving organizations across the state. At the end of that decade the endowment had a balance of $11 million. That’s the power of endowment and the meaning of endowment’s funny math. People don’t give money to the Yavapai County Community Foundation, they give money to our community through us.
